What does going to confession mean to me? This is something that I find many college students asking themselves. As we get older and question and seek a deeper understanding of our faith, this is something that I've taken the time to think about as of late. If nothing else, it truly is an avenue and a means to free ones soul. After I go to confession it is always that freedom, that I no longer have this burden on my shoulders and it gives me a greater chance to better myself and correct the mistakes of my past. And even if i should fail, the fact that I want to go to confession means I still WANT to get better even though I should temporarily falter. It has definitely and ultimately been a tool for me to stay closer to God, and keeping myself accountable for my own actions.
